JIF 2022, DKI Provincial Government Promotes Jakarta as an Investment Friendly City and Sustainable City

JAKARTA, JAKTIMES.COM- The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government collaborated with the U20 Mayors Summit and Bank Indonesia (BI) to hold an annual international investment forum, namely the Jakarta Investment Forum (JIF) 2022. A series of offline JIF 2022 activities at the Fairmont Hotel, South Jakarta, Thursday (1/9). /2022); and it is also done boldly through the Zoom Meetings application, and live streaming through the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Youtube channel, Jakarta Services.

JIF 2022 with the theme “Investing in Resilience” aims to simultaneously promote DKI Jakarta as an investment-friendly city that supports sustainable and livable city development. The theme is in line with the priority issue of the U20 Summit: “Recover Together, Recover Stronger”. As an integrated event of the U20 Mayors Summit, JIF 2022 has the same focus, namely post-pandemic challenges and climate change.

It is known that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has set a vision to build a city that is more livable and sustainable. In 2009, Jakarta committed to reduce 30% of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by 2030. Meanwhile, in 2021, it has reached 26% of the target.

As the largest megapolitan city in the Southern Hemisphere, Jakarta faces great challenges. Therefore, in unraveling the problems in Jakarta and making Jakarta a livable city, the government cannot do it alone but requires collaboration involving various parties such as the participation of the community, business entities, the private sector and investors.

Through JIF 2022, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government wants to discuss all the challenges and policies needed to encourage green investments in Jakarta. The forum is expected to encourage sustainable investment, and realize Net-Zero Emissions by 2050 for future generations. JIF 2022 also provides a meeting point for public officials, investors, investors and potential project owners to explore various potential investment collaborations in Jakarta.

Regarding this matter, the Assistant for Economics and Finance of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Secretary, Sri Haryati, who was present at the JIF 2002 Opening Ceremony as well as the speaker of the discussion session entitled Sustainable Food System, emphasized that the investors present expressed interest in the potential projects offered. He also hopes that the meeting can lead to interaction until the realization of investment in Jakarta, between investors and owners of potential projects offered in JIF 2022.

“DPMPTSP DKI Jakarta through the Jakarta Investment Center together with the relevant OPD and BUMD leaders are also ready to provide detailed explanations about potential projects in the Meet the Leaders session. It is hoped that after this event takes place, investors will realize investment in potential projects so that sustainable development in Jakarta can be realized,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of DKI Jakarta Provincial DPMPTSP, Benni Aguscandra said that his party would promote and facilitate investors in obtaining information about potential projects for the sustainable development of the city of Jakarta.

“There are at least 15 potential sustainable green investment projects offered from 7 BUMDs, with an estimated investment value of Rp. 280 Trillion. The 15 projects cover various sectors including infrastructure, transportation, Transit Oriented Development (TOD), renewable energy, health, tourism and waste management. JIF 2022 participants can also explore various potential projects offered at the project booth that has been provided,” he explained.

To note, the series of JIF 2022 activities were attended by 793 participants which were held in a hybrid manner. The event was attended directly by 8 (eight) Ambassadors of friendly countries, namely Korea, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Singapore, South Africa, Qatar, Bahrain, and Morocco.

Then, also attended by Representatives of Friendly Countries from United Kingdom, Germany, Netherland, Kuwait, France, Denmark, Spain, Czech, Turkey, and others; as well as business actors, both from within and outside the country.

The 7 (seven) DKI Jakarta BUMDs that were present at JIF 2022, including PT Transport Jakarta (TransJakarta), PT Jakarta Propertindo (JakPro), PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda), Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya, PT Kawasan Berikat Nusantara (KBN), Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung (JIEP), and the Jakarta Experience Board (JXB).

Meanwhile, the Leaders of Regional Apparatus Organizations who are members of the Meet the Leaders session with the Jakarta Investment Center, including the Regional Development Planning Agency; Regional Asset Management Agency; Regional Revenue Agency; DPMPTSP; CKTRP Office; Environmental services; Department of Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy; Department of Water Resources; KPKP Office, and; Bureau of Development and Environment.

JIF 2022 also presents potential projects from BUMD that can be collaborated with potential investors through investment mechanisms and facilitates meetings between investors and stakeholders through Meet the Leaders, One on One Meetings and BUMD Networking Sessions.

In addition, JIF 2022 also presents discussions on investment opportunities in Jakarta, such as Sustainable Food System, Waste Management through Circular Economy, and Public Private Partnership (PPP) Green Investment to encourage sustainable projects, as well as collaborating with the British Embassy to present thematic discussions. with the theme Funding Infrastructure: Unlocking Multi-Resources in Structuring the Project (Wan)
