JAKARTA, JAKTIMES.COM- Acting (Acting) Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono hopes that the momentum of the 1945 Saka New Year’s Nyepi Day which is close to the start of the fasting month of Ramadan 1444 Hijriah will further strengthen brotherhood among religious believers.
In the Melasti Ceremony at Segara Temple, Cilincing, North Jakarta, Sunday, Heru Budi Hartono was unable to attend and was represented North Jakarta Mayor Ali Maulana Hakim to deliver his remarks.
On that occasion, the hope was also conveyed that Hindus could always support the activities or programs of the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta, including maintaining harmony and preserving the natural environment. With the maintenance of sustainability, it is hoped that a clean and pure heart will be born.

DKI Jakarta Nyepi Committee Chairman, I Nyoman Adiarta said, Melasti at Segara Temple was attended by 500-1,000 Hindus from the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) areas.
Melasti is interpreted as self-purification with sea water “Tirta Amerta”. Nyoman hopes that the series of ceremonial activities will have a positive impact on peace, comfort and harmony in Jakarta and its surroundings.
The celebration of the Hindus’ Day of Silence, Saka New Year 1945 takes place on March 22, 2023 when Muslims observe the beginning of Ramadan 1444 Hijri (Ant/WAN)
