JAKARTA, JAKTIMES.COM- Acting (PJ) Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono hopes that the Kota Tua area in West Jakarta can become an icon worthy of bringing Jakarta to the international stage through the momentum of the ASEAN Summit.
Because of this, Heru instructed the ranks of the West Jakarta City Government to guard the Kota Tua tourist area in preparation for the ASEAN Summit.
“Because there is an ASEAN Summit, the ministerial level, the head of state level will one of them see the Old City,” Heru said at the City Level Development Planning Meeting (Musrenbang) at the West Jakarta Mayor’s Office, Tuesday (21/3).
According to Heru, all related departments (sub-departments) must work together in managing and maintaining the Kota Tua tourist area.
He gave an example of the Sub-agency for Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises (PPKUMKM) which is in charge of managing street vendors in the Kota Tua area.
Apart from that, the Transportation Sub-agency must also be involved to ensure that the Kota Tua area does not become a source of traffic jams when the Summit participants visit.
The Dina Bina Marga tribe must play a role in maintaining the condition of the sidewalks and lighting in the Kota Tua area. Heru instructed the Satpol PP ranks to actively carry out monitoring so that the Kota Tua area is more orderly.
Heru also hopes that the regional government will cooperate with law enforcement related parties to ensure that the Kota Tua tourist area is in a safe condition.
“This includes the Kajari, Dandim, and the Chief of Police to collaborate on securing the ASEAN Summit,” he said.
With this readiness, he hopes that the Kota Tua area can become an icon worthy of bringing Jakarta to the international stage through the ASEAN Summit in DKI Jakarta in September 2023 (Ant/Jaktimes)
