JAKARTA, JAKTIMES.COM – Responding to air pollution issues and approaching the ASEAN Summit, the Jakarta Provincial Government will conduct a trial of the Work From Home (WFH) system for Civil Servants (ASN) who do not provide direct services and implement Distance Learning (PJJ) for schools located around the ASEAN Summit venue.
This was conveyed by the Acting Head of the Jakarta Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Agency, Sigit Wijatmoko, at the Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday (16/8).
Sigit explained that the trial implementation of WFH will be carried out with a 50 percent attendance rate within the Jakarta Provincial Government environment, effective from August 21 to October 21, 2023, for ASN performing staff or support functions. However, this does not apply to services directly provided to the public, such as hospitals, community health centers (Puskesmas), Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), Fire and Rescue Department, Transportation Department, and even sub-district level services.
“The Jakarta Provincial Government remains committed to providing optimal public services. We ensure that the implementation of WFH does not impact public services, and work will continue as usual,” stated Sigit.
Sigit added that the percentage of employees implementing WFH and those present in the office will also be adjusted during the ASEAN Summit scheduled from September 4 to 7, 2023. During this period, 75 percent of employees will WFH, and 25 percent will work from the office. This adjustment applies to government offices near the ASEAN Summit venue, such as the Tourism Department Office in Kuningan, South Jakarta.
Furthermore, Sigit explained that the Distance Learning (PJJ) system for schools located around the ASEAN Summit venue will only be in effect during the event itself, from September 4 to 7, 2023. The PJJ system will be applied with a 50 percent student attendance rate. However, teachers and educational staff in those schools will still be present and operate at 100 percent capacity.
“For PJJ, it’s only during the ASEAN Summit. Schools implementing PJJ are only those located near the ASEAN Summit venue, such as in the Thamrin, Sudirman, Tanah Abang, Kuningan, and Menteng areas. However, schools far from the ASEAN Summit venue, such as in West Jakarta and East Jakarta, will continue normal activities with 100 percent attendance,” he explained.
After the ASEAN Summit concludes, he continued, schools near the ASEAN Summit venue can resume regular learning activities with 100 percent student attendance (Wan)
