BOGOR, JAKTIMES.COM — President Prabowo Subianto personally led the Year-Opening Briefing of the Merah Putih Cabinet, attended by all ministers, at his residence in Hambalang, Bogor Regency, West Java, on Tuesday (Jan. 6, 2026).
The briefing marked an important moment to reaffirm the government’s policy direction while conducting a comprehensive evaluation of the implementation of national priority programs.
Minister of State Secretariat (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi said the meeting, which began at around 2:00 p.m. WIB, was designed as an early-year orientation forum as well as an open discussion platform between the President and cabinet members.
“This briefing serves as an evaluation forum for the government’s priority programs while also strengthening the cabinet’s commitment to work,” Prasetyo told reporters.
Evaluation of Priority Programs and Tangible Achievements
The briefing began with the screening of several videos showcasing the government’s tangible achievements. One of the highlights was the construction of suspension bridges, which had previously drawn special attention from the President due to their vital role in providing access for communities, particularly schoolchildren.
“Thank God, within one month there has been progress. A total of 11 suspension bridges have been completed, around 50 are currently under construction. In 2026, we will continue to accelerate the work, with urgent needs estimated at around 6,900 bridges,” Prasetyo said.
In addition to basic infrastructure, the government also presented progress in the Free Nutritious Meals Program (MBG). To date, the program has reached approximately 55 million beneficiaries, supported by nearly 19,000 Nutrition Service Units (SPPG) that are already in operation.
In 2026, the government targets the establishment of around 35,000 SPPG units, which are expected to serve up to 82.9 million beneficiaries across Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the free health check program has also recorded significant achievements. Throughout 2025, the service reached approximately 70 million citizens within a single year.
President Calls on Cabinet to Strengthen Commitment
On the occasion, President Prabowo expressed his appreciation for the cabinet’s work and called on all ministers to reaffirm their commitment to serving the nation and the state wholeheartedly.
The President also listened directly to reports from ministers regarding the progress of priority programs, including various challenges encountered in the field.
“The challenges that emerged were conveyed directly by the ministers to the President, and the solutions and follow-up measures were discussed immediately,” Prasetyo emphasized.
