Jakarta Festive Wonders Records Rp15 Trillion in Transactions, Pramono Says It Boosts Regional Revenue

Business Jakarta

JAKARTA, JAKTIMES.COM — Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has revealed the strong performance of Jakarta Festive Wonders 2025, with total transactions recorded at more than Rp15 trillion during the event, which ran from December 13, 2025 to January 10, 2026. The figure is seen as contributing significantly to an increase in regional revenue.

Pramono made the remarks during the closing ceremony of Jakarta Festive Wonders at Grand Indonesia, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday. He said the transaction figures were based on an official report from Jakarta’s Assistant for Economy and Finance, Suharini Eliawati.

“The report shows that Jakarta’s regional budget performance is largely on target, except for the Land and Building Rights Acquisition Duty (BPHTB), which is closely linked to the property sector and largely regulated by the central government. However, taxes collected directly by the regional government have performed well,” Pramono said.

In light of the positive results, Pramono instructed the Head of the Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda), Lusiana Herawati, to prepare more attractive tax incentive schemes for future festivals.

Jakarta Festive Wonders is a competition focused on transaction digitalization and festive decorations involving shopping centers and hotels across Jakarta. The program is considered successful in boosting economic activity while encouraging the use of non-cash transactions.

Encouraged by the strong public response and positive impact on businesses, Pramono plans to expand the festival concept to coincide with other major occasions, such as Chinese New Year (Imlek), Ramadan, and Eid al-Fitr.

“I immediately thought that we will soon be celebrating Chinese New Year, followed by Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. Why not organize similar festivals for those occasions as well?” Pramono said.

He expressed confidence that business players across the retail, shopping mall, and hospitality sectors would welcome the initiative.

Jakarta Festive Wonders was organized through a collaboration between the Jakarta Provincial Government and Bank Indonesia Jakarta, OJK Jabodebek, the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI), the Indonesian Shopping Center Management Association (APPBI), the Indonesian Retailers and Shopping Center Tenants Association (Hippindo), the Jakarta Hotel Association, and the Indonesian Retail Entrepreneurs Association (Aprindo).

To support the event, the Jakarta Provincial Government also issued Governor Regulation No. 870 of 2025, granting reductions and exemptions on advertisement taxes. The policy allows advertisements related to meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions (MICE) to be displayed without tax charges during the event period (Wan).
