JAKARTA, JAKTIMES.COM — Residents of the capital are advised to prepare umbrellas when heading out today. Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecasts that clear skies to light rain will characterize Jakarta’s weather throughout Friday (December 19).
According to BMKG’s official website, light rain has been falling across all areas of Jakarta since the morning, including the Thousand Islands, Central Jakarta, North Jakarta, West Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta. These conditions have brought cooler morning temperatures, especially for residents starting their activities early.
As the day progresses, weather conditions are expected to shift. The Thousand Islands are forecast to be clear, while Central, North, South, and East Jakarta will experience cloudy skies. West Jakarta is predicted to be partly cloudy.
In the afternoon, light rain is likely to return in several areas, namely the Thousand Islands, Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta. Meanwhile, North Jakarta and West Jakarta are expected to remain cloudy.
For the evening, BMKG forecasts cloudy weather across all areas of Jakarta, including the Thousand Islands. These conditions are generally considered safe for nighttime activities, although residents are still advised to remain alert to potential weather changes.
BMKG reports that temperatures today will range between 23 and 30 degrees Celsius, with humidity levels of 64 to 90 percent. The public is encouraged to maintain good health, adjust outdoor activities accordingly, and continue monitoring the latest weather updates from BMKG.
