JAKARTA, JAKTIMES.COM – A total of 232,349 students from 1,807 madrasah institutions across Jakarta are being targeted by the Free School Health Check (CKG) program, initiated by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA). The program was officially launched at the start of the new academic year as part of a national effort to strengthen preventive health care in religious education institutions.

“The target participants for CKG are 232,349 students from 1,807 madrasahs across Jakarta,” said Head of the Jakarta Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Adib, in Jakarta on Sunday (August 4, 2025).

The launch took place at MIN 8 South Jakarta, with 617 students receiving free health checks.

Early Detection for a Healthier Generation

Adib expressed hope that the program would help identify health issues at an early stage and prevent potential risks that could arise in the future.

“This also aims to raise awareness of the importance of health,” he said.

CKG School is designed as a preventive and promotive health program, focusing especially on children and adolescents in religious schools.

Not Just Madrasahs, But Also Pesantrens and Other Religious Schools

Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar has called on all officials, both at the central and regional levels, to ensure the program’s success nationwide. In addition to madrasahs, the program also targets students in pesantrens, Christian and Catholic schools, Widyalaya (Hindu), and Dhammasekha (Buddhist) educational institutions.

“We ask all staff, from the central ministry to regional offices, to support the success of this program,” the Minister said.

The program also reaches children aged 7–17 who are not enrolled in formal education, including those in informal or community-based schools like Sekolah Rakyat.

Nearly 2 Million Children Targeted in Jakarta, 53 Million Nationwide

In Jakarta, the provincial government has set a target of 1,997,082 children to take part in the CKG School program during the 2025/2026 academic year.

Nationally, the government is aiming to reach 53 million students across Indonesia, spanning 282,317 educational institutions—from elementary to high school level, including madrasahs and pesantrens.

Implementation of the program in Jakarta began on July 9, 2025 at Sekolah Rakyat Sentra Handayani, Cipayung, followed by other institutions like Sentra Mulya Jaya and the Training and Professional Development Center (Pusdiklatbangprof) in Margaguna, Cilandak.

The CKG School program is a rebranding of the annual health screening program for school-age children and adolescents, now with an expanded format and broader reach to ensure that more Indonesian children can benefit from better health services.
