JAKARTA, JAKTIMES.COM- Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week (JMFW) 2026 closed on a high note, recording total transactions worth US$19.51 million, equivalent to Rp 265.23 billion.
The result far exceeded the initial target of US$10 million, marking a major milestone for Indonesia’s thriving Muslim fashion industry.
This achievement is seen as a strong indicator of growth and the increasing global competitiveness of Indonesian Muslim fashion products.
“This is an excellent achievement. The presence of buyers from various countries serves as a positive indicator for export opportunities. The entire organizing team also did an exceptional job,”said Trade Minister Budi Santoso, Monday (Nov 10).
Global Appeal and Strong Public Enthusiasm
This year’s JMFW drew international buyers from Malaysia, France, Italy, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, and Sudan, opening new market opportunities for local designers and producers.
Public enthusiasm was equally impressive, with 11,459 visitors attending the event and 242 exhibitors showcasing a wide array of Muslim fashion products from across the country.
Budi emphasized that JMFW’s success goes beyond the impressive transaction numbers — it also lies in the exchange of ideas and capacity building among industry players.
“This event stimulates the entire domestic fashion ecosystem — not only through direct transactions, but also through innovation and collaboration,” he noted.
Boost for Fashion MSMEs
Head of Jakarta’s Industry, Trade, Cooperative, and MSME Agency (PPKUKM), Parulian Tampubolon, also praised the success of JMFW 2026.
He highlighted the event’s significant contribution to local fashion MSMEs and its role in driving the creative economy.
L “We hope JMFW will continue to deliver a strong positive impact, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises in the fashion sector,” he said.
With transactions surpassing Rp 265 billion, JMFW 2026 has firmly positioned Jakarta as a global hub for Muslim fashion trends, strengthening Indonesia’s reputation as one of the leading players in the international modest fashion industry (Wan)
