JAKARTA, JAKTIMES.COM — Jakarta residents are expected to experience wet weather today as the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecasts light rain across most parts of the capital throughout Thursday (Jan. 29).
According to BMKG’s weather forecast, light rain has been falling since the morning and is affecting all six areas of Jakarta, including the Thousand Islands, Central Jakarta, North Jakarta, West Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta.
As the day progresses into the afternoon, rainfall is expected to subside, with cloudy conditions prevailing across the capital, although skies may remain overcast.
However, residents are advised to stay alert in the late afternoon, as light rain is forecast to return in several areas, namely the Thousand Islands, North Jakarta, and West Jakarta. Meanwhile, Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta are expected to experience cloudy weather.
By evening, cloudy conditions will cover the Thousand Islands, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta, while light rain is still likely to fall in Central Jakarta, North Jakarta, and West Jakarta.
BMKG reported that Jakarta’s air temperature today will range between 23 and 28 degrees Celsius, with humidity levels reaching 75 to 98 percent. These conditions may cause the air to feel cooler and more humid, especially during periods of rainfall.
BMKG has urged the public to remain cautious of changing weather conditions and to adjust daily activities accordingly, particularly motorists and motorcyclists, who are advised to exercise extra caution on the roads (Wan)
