JAKARTA, JAKTIMES.COM – Jakarta Fair Kemayoran (JFK) 2026 has officially opened its doors and is once again set to become a major attraction for millions of visitors from across Indonesia.

The largest and most comprehensive multi-product exhibition in Southeast Asia is targeting an impressive Rp8 trillion (approximately USD 490 million) in transactions during its month-long run from June 11 to July 12, 2026.

The event was officially inaugurated by Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung at the JIExpo Kemayoran Arena in Central Jakarta on Thursday (June 11).

In his opening remarks, Pramono expressed optimism that this year’s Jakarta Fair would surpass last year’s achievement, which recorded more than Rp7.3 trillion in transactions and attracted approximately 5.9 million visitors.

“Last year, transactions exceeded Rp7.3 trillion, and I hope this year they can reach Rp8 trillion, particularly for MSME transactions at this venue,” Pramono said.

In addition to the ambitious transaction target, the Jakarta Provincial Government is aiming to attract 6 million visitors throughout the 32-day event.

A Key Driver of Jakarta’s Economy

According to Pramono, Jakarta Fair is more than just an exhibition and entertainment festival. It serves as one of the capital city’s economic engines.

He noted that Jakarta currently contributes approximately 16.67 percent to Indonesia’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), while the city’s economic growth rate stands at 5.59 percent.

For this reason, Jakarta Fair plays a crucial role as a platform for product promotion, market expansion, and increased business transactions, particularly for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). “Hopefully next year the event will be even bigger, attract more visitors, and generate more than Rp9 trillion in transactions for MSMEs,” he added.

Encouraging the Use of Public Transportation

The governor also encouraged visitors to utilize Jakarta’s public transportation network when traveling to the fairgrounds.

According to him, Jakarta’s transportation connectivity has significantly improved, with integration levels now reaching 93 percent.

With easier and more accessible transportation options, visitors are expected to enjoy the wide range of activities and entertainment without having to deal with heavy traffic congestion.

2,800 Companies and 150 Bands Join the Celebration

Meanwhile, Siti Hartati Murdaya, President Director of PT Jakarta International Expo and Chairperson of the Jakarta Fair Kemayoran 2026 Organizing Committee, said the annual event is being held to celebrate Jakarta’s 499th Anniversary.

This year’s exhibition features 2,800 participating companies occupying 1,800 exhibition booths, showcasing a diverse range of products, including automotive, fashion, furniture, household appliances, cosmetics, skincare, creative products, and MSME offerings.

Beyond shopping and exhibitions, visitors will also be treated to a series of live music performances featuring 150 top bands and artists throughout the event. “These achievements reflect the public’s enthusiasm and the confidence of business players who regard Jakarta Fair as one of the most effective promotional platforms,” Siti Hartati said.

A Grand Stage for MSMEs and the Creative Industry

Over the years, Jakarta Fair Kemayoran has established itself as one of Indonesia’s largest showcases for domestic products.

The event serves as a meeting point where businesses, trade and manufacturing industries, creative sectors, and consumers come together under one roof.

With its Rp8 trillion transaction target and millions of expected visitors, Jakarta Fair Kemayoran 2026 is expected to be more than just a celebration of Jakarta’s anniversary. It is also envisioned as a catalyst for economic growth, a platform for promoting local products, and a driving force behind the continued development of Indonesia’s MSME sector (Wan)
