JAKARTA, JAKTIMES.COM — Flooding that struck several areas of Jakarta on Thursday morning disrupted public transportation services. A total of 28 Transjakarta routes, including BRT, Mikrotrans, and integrated transport services, were forced to be rerouted and shortened to ensure passenger safety.

Head of Transjakarta’s Public Relations and CSR Department, Ayu Wardhani, said the service adjustments were implemented following heavy rainfall, water inundation, and traffic congestion in a number of areas across the capital.

“In response to heavy rain, flooding, and traffic congestion occurring in several parts of Jakarta this morning, Transjakarta services have been adjusted to ensure the safety of passengers and vehicles,” Ayu said in Jakarta on Thursday, as quoted by Jaktimes.com from Antara.

The rerouted services include BRT Corridor 10 (PGC 2–Tanjung Priok), as well as integrated transport routes 1M (Blok M–Meruya) and 3E (Sentraland Cengkareng–Puri Kembangan).

In addition, a number of Mikrotrans routes were also affected, including JAK 02, JAK 05, JAK 08, JAK 09, JAK 100, JAK 102, JAK 105, JAK 118, JAK 27, JAK 30, JAK 37, JAK 39, JAK 50, JAK 53, JAK 56, JAK 58, JAK 59, JAK 71, JAK 86, JAK 89, and JAK 90.

Meanwhile, three Mikrotrans routes — JAK 22 (Dwikora–Penas Kalimalang), JAK 40 (Pulogebang–Pasar Modern), and JAK 85 (Bintara–Cipinang Indah) — were subject to route shortening.

Transjakarta also temporarily suspended operations on JAK 112 (Terminal Tanah Merah–Pulogadung) due to unsafe conditions.

Furthermore, service delays were reported in several areas, including Petukangan–JORR Toll Road Underpass, Cawang Sentral–Halim, and Pulo Nangka toward Monas, caused by flooding and heavy traffic congestion.

“Transjakarta apologizes for the inconvenience experienced by our customers. We continue to monitor conditions on the ground so that services can return to normal as soon as possible,” Ayu said.

Transjakarta has urged the public to check the latest updates through its official channels before traveling and to allow extra travel time while extreme weather conditions persist (Ant/Jaktimes/Wan)
