JAKARTA, JAKTIMES.COM- The chairman of the PSSI Disciplinary Committee (Komdis) Inspector General Pol (Ret.) Erwin Tobing deeply regrets the chaos that occurred at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang Regency, which then spread to the area around the stadium.
As is known, the match between Arema FC and Persebaya Surabaya, Saturday (1/10) which ended 2-3 ended in chaos. Thousands of Aremania rage inside and outside the stadium because their favorite team was defeated by Persebaya.
”After receiving a report from PT Liga Indonesia Baru, we immediately tried this case. Arema may not be allowed to host the remaining matches in the BRI Liga 1 competition this season. In addition, other sanctions await,” Erwin said as quoted by Jaktimes.com from the official PSSI website (3/10).
Erwin could not confirm how many victims died or were injured in this incident. However, if a victim dies, it is already a criminal matter and will be followed up by the police. ”We support the police to follow up on this incident. Anyone who does wrong should be punished,” he added.
Erwin also made sure that together with the team from PSSI, they immediately went to Malang to find out what really happened. This was done so that during the Komdis trial later they could decide what punishment should be given to Arema (Wan)
